1. Why do some rental companies take my thumbprints?
In France, to protect from fraud, some car rental companies may insist on your thumbprint astatine time of pick up. This reduces the possibility that a dishonest person can use your name and credit card illegally. Where this system is operated it is a requirement of the hire – no car without a thumbprint!
How is a thumbprint taken?
You will need to place your thumb on the pad supplied and the print will be added to the Rental Agreement. These pads ar not like ink-pads so will non stain clothes or hands.
